Cookie Policy
Last updated: April 2026
This policy explains what cookies CityBreak.in uses, why, and how you can control them. It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They allow the site to remember information about your visit. We also use browser localStorage for similar purposes (storing your consent choice and, temporarily, your quiz session state).
What cookies we use
| Cookie / Storage | Type | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
cb_consent_v1 |
Essential | Stores your cookie consent preference so we don't ask every time. | Until cleared |
cb_emails (localStorage) |
Functional | Temporarily stores email addresses submitted via the sign-up form in your browser. This data is not shared with third parties for tracking. It is cleared once synced to our email service provider. | Until cleared |
| Google Analytics (_ga, _ga_*) | Analytics | GA4 analytics cookies — track page views, session data and quiz interactions to help us improve the site. Only set after you accept analytics cookies. IP is anonymised. | Up to 2 years |
| Google Fonts | Functional | We load fonts (Playfair Display, DM Sans) from Google Fonts. Google may set cookies or log requests. We load these fonts from Google's servers on page load. While not strictly necessary in the legal sense — the site could use system fonts as a fallback — they are integral to the visual design. Google may log the font request including your IP address. If you prefer, you can use a browser extension to block Google Fonts requests; the site will fall back to a system serif font. | Session |
Affiliate link tracking
When you click an affiliate link (to Skyscanner, Booking.com or GetYourGuide), those third-party sites may set their own cookies to track that the booking came via our link. This is handled by the destination website, not by us. We do not place tracking cookies on your device through affiliate links. Please refer to each partner's cookie policy for details.
Managing your cookie preferences
You can change your cookie preferences at any time:
You can also control cookies through your browser settings. Note that blocking all cookies may affect how the site functions. For more information see the ICO's guide to cookies.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when we add or change cookies. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects any changes.
